Are you a fan of Barbie and the movie, love pink or support girl power? This new musical is for you! Barbara and Kenneth tells the story of the iconic Barbie (Barbara) and her journey from the beginning through all her careers and fabulous outfits and the prejudice and controversy she has faced, while paving the way for women everywhere.
This almost one woman show with the addition of Kenneth every now and again is full of inspiring and empowering songs, incredible outfits, and sensational vocals.
Deanna Giulietti stars as Barbara and embodies everything this icon stands for with vocals that will leave you with goosebumps and in complete awe of her abilities. With a wardrobe to be envied and some fun costume changes, Deanna is a real-life Barbara.
Jack Shapiro, as Kenneth complimented Deanna’s Barbara, perfectly. He has great comedic timing and showmanship and has a moment to shine in his solo, too.
This production is full of important messages and lessons for young women everywhere and is empowering and inspiring. This is showcased in Barbara’s ballad number “ can’t apologize for being me” and is stunning, moving, and powerful.
